It's that time of year again. I'm getting ready for Angouleme and this time taking another pointed tale TA. It's always hectic, I've just been told that FIVA paperwork has been approved but if the postman doesn't arrive by early Thursday we're going without and arguing when we arrive! I will as always post full coverage when I return. I know there are least a couple of other MG T-types going to be present.
I've always enjoyed racing at Angouleme. There used to be a group of us T-racers there, Paul Smeeth, Glynn Giusti, Dave Clewley, George Edney and the late Malcolm Hogg amongst others. Quite a fearsome grid. The photograph below is from circa 1999, the second time I entered the race. I believe I came in 5th that day but only due to the boys in front getting a bit overexcited and having a major bump.
My steed for this year's race will be the TA / Q type car that I have for sale. Let's hope there's no bumps this time round! I've nearly finished tidying her up now, as you'll see she has changed a bit with a new valance and spare wheel carrier. I'm also altering the trim and will post photographs when finished.
