It's rare for us to sit and write a blog post these days, with Facebook often offering a simpler window into our world but it's been another busy year for my son Luke and I and I thought that this page was starting to look a bit neglected. So here's a quick recap of some of what we've been up to.
Early last year we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on one of the factory cars, MG K3003. I never thought I'd have the chance and it was a big tick on the bucket list. I was smiling from ear to ear despite it being absolutely freezing when we were testing the car.
Having Nuvolari's car in the garage has very much inspired me to finally finish building my own K-Type, with an aluminium bodied light weight K3 style body per Nuvolari's Mille Miglia entry. Everything has taken me a lot longer than I'd have hoped but I think the end justifies the means as I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.
We've also been doing a near full restoration on an MG TA which arrived in a bit of a sorry state but is now nearing completion and will be a credit to it's enthusiast owner. The car will be used for rallies and we have, of course, fitted one of our Eaton supercharger kits to the XPAG engine. She'll be on the rolling road soon so I'll post some videos in due course.
We continue to be busy with Q-type bodies, supercharger kits, Volkswagen steering conversions, engines, tuning, stainless exhaust systems.. Luke is now running the day to day business here after a 15+ year apprenticeship but I'm sticking around to make cups of tea(!) After all, there's nothing good on TV. All the best, Steve
